Regarding agricultural chemicals, BPI provides advice and scientific support for:
- The rationalized use of agricultural chemicals, taking into consideration their effectiveness (correct time and method of application, stage of cultivation, and target development)
- The integrated control of plant pests and diseases, through the development of protocols for the low input of plant protection products, and the management of these products in relation to their impacts on pests’ natural enemies
- The investigation of agricultural chemicals’ effectiveness, plant toxicity and their potential negative impacts on useful arthropods
Regarding Biocides, BPI can perform studies on their biological activity (effectiveness on target organisms), mode of action, methods of application and dose rates, resistance etc.
